The effect of religious practices cannot be compared to any other moral values that we practice in our lives today. Ideally almost every country across the world emphasizes on the need to value religious practices and also to have freedom of worship. But how has religious practices really helped us? Here are a few ways in which religious practices has influenced social stability in our world today.

#1

Religious practices form the foundation of our laws. Many laws that we practice today are derived from our religious practices. It is in the same spirit that we have the Sharia Laws or the Islamic Laws derived from the Islamic religious practices. Such beliefs and practices have therefore contributed in a great way to the development of personal moral criteria and sound judgment.

Religious practices have also formed the fundamental principles of a family unit. Ideally people who attend worship places such as Mosques and Churches are likely to get married and settle down with a family compared to their counter parts that are not religiously influenced. They are also less likely to divorce and manifest very high sense of satisfaction with their marriages today.

#3

Religious practices have also alleviated poverty in many regions across the world today. For instances Mosques have been used as sacred areas where young people learn how to be responsible and how to make ideal life choices. Payment of alms and the Islamic education system has also been quite instrumental in helping your people to escape poverty from the inner circles.

Religious practices have also been very helpful in fighting a host of social problems including substance abuse, pregnancies out of wedlock, crime, divorce, violence and many others. In fact today such ideal social practices have even been extended to the blind community by the use of ideal Islamic books in Braille.

Finally regular practices of religious beliefs have been found to play very instrumental part in the development of a good physical health. This increases longevity and instills hope that would eventually boost ones recovery from illnesses and other social stigmas. In fact it is because of this same reason that religious norms are intertwined in personal counseling courses.

There is a great influence of religious practices in our social lives today. In order to make the society less hostile and friendlier to live in, religion must play a very critical role in the same. We should therefore embrace the religious norms that we have today.
